2. What is Ozone?

Ozone generators produce naturally occurring Ozone which is a very powerful oxidant and an ideal chemical-free disinfecting agent.

Ozone generators are not only opening up new areas of use for this form of sanitisation but are also reducing the dependency on the use of chemicals, the disposal of which is destructive to our natural environment. Ozone is far more effective in destroying odours than chemicals because it actually kills the bacteria and destroys the chemical compounds responsible for the smell - instead of just masking one smell with another.

How it works: Ozone is a naturally occurring gas created from oxygen atoms. The oxygen molecules are broken into atoms by UV light at a particular frequency and high voltage corona discharge. These molecules then recombine into loosely bonded tri-atomic oxygen known as 'ozone'. Ozone has been known about for most of the 20th century with the technology of recent years finally allowing it to be generated efficiently.
