Aquaculture
The depleting of open water fish stock has resulted in the growth of Aquaculture systems.
One of the main criteria for growing healthy fish stock is the need to remove waste matter from fish growing tanks and provide the stock with clean water.
Ozonating waste water can reduce toxicity allowing water to be recycled through the system in a closed loop thereby reducing the need for large amounts of fresh water being continuously added.
Aquaponics
Combining fish farming with greenhouse vegetable production is an ideal way to use the waste matter of one facility to feed a second crop. This increasingly popular method of farming is adding to the overall profitability of the operation.
Waste water from the fish tanks is used to irrigate and fertilized a plant crop in the greenhouse. The plant beds are used as sand biofilters to clean the water of solid waste matter then the water is re-ozonated to remove nutrients or harmful micro-organisms before being recycled back into the fish tanks.
