Barrel rinsing
The use of ozonated water as a rinse after hot water, or on its own for those who cold rinse only, will reduce or eliminate bacteria and yeasts including Brettanomyces.
Using a storage vessel and ozonating the water prior to use ensures that levels of ozone released to the air in the workplace remain at a minimum for compliance with OH&S requirements.
Ozone uses no chemicals in its production and leaves no trace chemicals after use.
Cleaning with ozone leaves nothing to taint the product and no chemical additives in the waste.
Tank cleaning
The same equipment used for barrels can be used to clean tanks. By using ozonated water for the supply to the pressure cleaning equipment the tank will be sanitised as it is rinsed.
Results have shown the same degree of sanitisation as that achieved using caustic for a fraction of the cost and wasted water. In fact for a rinse operation only on a tank the water usage can be nil, and by measuring the ozone level in the water returning to the system the operation can run automatically until the required level of sanitisation is achieved: a big time saver for staff.
CIP
Ozone is the perfect product for "clean in place" pipework and equipment. It will destroy all bacteria and yeast and will leave no chemical residue in the system. It can be simply set to operate automatically until the required level of sanitisation is achieved.
